The basic performance of electronic connector includes three major mechanical performance, electrical performance and environmental performance.

1. The mechanical properties of the connector are the insertion force and the pull-out force. The basic requirements of the two are also different. There are standard large and small values in the product test and detection. From the perspective of use, the insertion force is small, while the separation force is too small, which will affect the contact reliability.

2. Electrical performance includes contact resistance, insulation resistance, voltage resistance, mechanical life and flame resistance

    1、 Electrical connectors with high contact resistance should have low and stable contact resistance. The contact resistance of the connector varies from a few milliohms to tens of milliohms.
    2、 The insulation resistance is an index to measure the insulation performance between the contacts of electrical connectors and between the contacts and the shell, and its order of magnitude ranges from hundreds of megohm to several gigabohm.
    3、 Withstand voltage is the ability to withstand the rated test voltage between connector contacts or between contacts and housing.
    4、 Flame retardancy: ignite the alcohol lamp and conduct the external flame combustion test of the connector alcohol lamp.

3. Environmental performance includes salt spray test, high temperature, low temperature, vibration, constant damp heat,

    1、 Salt spray test: when the connector is plugged in, clean it with clean water after exposure for 8 hours, and conduct the test after drying
    2、 High temperature and low temperature are tested when the connector is plugged in, and the time is not less than 96 hours
    3、 Vibration test is a very important performance of connectors, and electronic products will have strict requirements in aerospace, railway transportation, air conditioning or other high strength working environments. Vibration test is conducted under the connector plug-in state and relevant standards, including vibration frequency, amplitude, direction and time.
